COMPLEMENTARY WORKSHOP TO THE BREAKFAST SEMINAR: A board facing a technology tsunami: what could be done ?

Thursday 02 May 2019 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

This activity follows immediately after the May 2 Breakfast Conference (register separately).

During this intimate and highly interactive workshop, participants will get the chance to discuss and understand the role directors can and should play in supervising technology selection and technology deployment choices, and how to react when a crisis emerges. The facilitator will guide the group through each step of the crisis unfolding, and guide a “stop, start, continue” discussion at each critical decision point for participants acting as the board of Target. They will have a chance to use specific frameworks to assess what their role should be, ranging from practices observed in best-in-class boards, to how to manage change in large and strategic projects. They will also have the opportunity to dive into the challenges of board structure and composition, the role of the committees and decision-making processes in times of crisis.
