Following a 35 year career in law and business, Maryse Bertrand is an advisor in governance and risks and a corporate director. Mrs. Bertrand is currently a member of the Board of Directors of National Bank of Canada, PSP Investments, Gildan Activewear Inc. and of Metro Inc. She chairs the Bank’s Conduct Review and Governance committee and is a member of its Human Resources Committee. She is a member of the Governance and Audit Committees of Gildan and Metro and of the Investment and Risk Committee of PSP. Mrs. Bertrand is a former director of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, where she was a member of its Audit, Risk and Investment, Governance and Human Resources Committees. From 2016 to 2017, she was Strategic advisor and special counsel to Borden Ladner Gervais s.e.n.c., srl, in matters of risk and governance. From 2009 to 2015, she was Vice-president, Real Estate Services, Legal Services and General-counsel at CBC/Radio-Canada, where she also chaired the National Crisis Management committee and the board of ARTV, a specialty channel. From 1989 to 2009 she was a partner of Davies Ward Phillips and Vineberg s.e.n.c, srl, where she specialized in M& A and Corporate Finance. From 2000 to 2005, she served on the National Management Committee of the firm. Mrs. Bertrand is also a member of the Board of Governors of McGill University where she is Vice-Chair of the Committee to Advise on Matters of Social Responsibility and a member of the Building and Property and Human Resources Committees.

She was named as Advocatus emeritus (Ad. E.) in 2007 by the Quebec Bar in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the legal profession. Mrs. Bertrand has a law degree from McGill University and a Master in Risk Management from New York University, Stern School of Business.
